Now 10Km may not seem like a lot of distance to most people, heck two weeks ago I would have scoffed at the distance myself. But recent events have changed that view somewhat. Since el Cardiologisto gave me the tentative all clear for the event I had been doing some preliminary walks to prepare. I'm getting tired so easily and I decided to take on as much of the Golden Gate walk as I could. No shame there I think. Once there as part of the PDI/ DreamWalkers team ($17K and still counting) I felt the same rush as the the other 25,000 trekkers. It was truly an amazing event to be a part of. Thank you all so much for your donations and support. I made a whopping $500 in the end, beating my target amount by 200 bucks. I made it around the whole course, feeling fine and loving every minute of it.
Bring on 2007!
AIDS WALK 2006 IS COMING!...
I've somehow missed the last two AIDS walks, inspite of being compelled to do them. I've had friends who have raised a lot of money doing this and it's very inspiring.
You all don't need me to tell you just how much of a issue this disease, continues to be. I've made it my business not only to get in some walking training but more importantly to do some research and what I'm finding out the disease and HIV is disturbing to say the least. So, I've finally registered and hope to make a lot of moolah for the cause.
You can too at http://www.aidswalk.net/sanfran/
Alternatively you can sponsor your very own blister without the effort or the inevitable pain by going to the above main website and looking for me in the 'Sponsor a Walker' link to the left, the direct link will follow.
